Roger and I have the greyt fortune of being the adoptive parents to four retired racing Greyhounds. Occasionally I get to play foster mom to a sweet greyhound, just off the race track and overcoming the challenges of trust and an unfamiliar home environment. Working with the local Greyhound rescue groups, we often do the meet and Greets at the Murrieta PetSmart. Making it possible for potential dog owners to learn about this gentle, playful and generally misunderstood breed. Most think of them as the runners they see at race tracks - but they truly shine as companion dogs and rapidly adjust to home life with a loving family.

When I’m not educating the pack in the finer details of correct social behavior, the kilns are firing and so are the creative juices. The results of the kindled flame’ I offer to the world to make as part of their wardrobes, homes and lives.  Unlike shoes and clothing, they are easy to care for and always ready-to-wear, one size fits all with most and are always appreciated when gifted and shared among friends or passed along to family members.

The beginning of my formal artistic training came from Interior Design, operating a studio in Southern California for 14 years, prompting me to surround myself with pleasing sites.   Art feeds our souls through the 5 senses - jewelry is artistic adornment, when it is not practical to surround ourselves with art - we wear it. I like that, so often I have taken refuge in a bracelet on my wrist, the sparkle of a ring on my finger or the brilliant colors of a friend’s necklace. Helps us feel alive in a sometimes bleak world and probably why jewelry has been around for 1000's of years.
